Ministries

Our Outreach Ministry was developed to provide a way for members and non-members of Lebanon Baptist church to fellowship through sports, on Sunday evenings.  It's origin began when it was voted that Lebanon Baptist not continue with Sunday night services, and several members had a vision to continue the ministry, but on a more non-traditional method.  As we all know fellowship/ministry can occur in many different ways, and as humble servants of God we strive to develop a new approach, and sports has proven to bring people with common interests together.  We have had a great amount of interests, of individuals(and their families) in the community whom might be looking for a church home, have taken part in this outreach.  We welcome men and women to this ministry as well as their children, whom have also, a great time with their own form of fellowship.

Lebanon Baptist Church Sports Outreach Is Going Strong

This Ministry began with an idea, that had been pasted around for some time, in the mixed nuts Sunday School class.  It finally materialized early in January of this year.  Through discussion of the young adults at Lebanon Baptist church, a sports outreach was born, and it going strong.  On Sunday night at 5:30 all ages get together, pray, fellowship and play basketball.  I was pleasantly surprised the first night when we had 21 partcipants and 20 other individuals rooting them on this includes their children.  Since then, we have averaged over 25 playing and hopefully in the future, through sports we will be able to slowly develop that need for spiritual growth in this age group.  From my observations in today’s society, it seems that  young adults have gotten so busy to attend religious events, the we have missed the mark of ministry and the need to grow spiritually.  Through this ministry it is our hope to have some fun through fellowship, meet new people and possibly open the doors to families that want revitalize this need for this spiritual growth.  I believe that this is great way to develop the foundation of our church.  When young adults come, children are soon to follow.  Hopefully, in the future, we will be able to continue this ministry as the weather changes, and we can take it outside, using other sports opportunities.  A special thanks to: Tonya Helm, Rob Keeling, Matt Davenport, Carrie McGuire, and Gene Hughes for being a part of this ministry.

Updates from the TV Ministry Team

Over the years we at LBC have tried to stay with times, and keeping our technology up to date has been our mission.  Through our TV ministry, we have been able to air locally our service, on channel 12.  We hope that your worship experience at home is a good one each Sunday.  We have added another facet to our Ministry.  After each service, it is uploaded to our website.  Although this takes several hours to complete, we believe through faith, its well worth it.  We pray that we will see it bear fruit at LBC.  Special Thanks to Daryl Raikes and his work on the website.  For without his work, uploading the service would not be possible.  To view past services please visit www.lebanonbaptistchurchky.org, then click on Video Vault.  This will direct you to any of the services you wish to view.  We are always open to comments about the Sunday morning service.  If you would like to contact us for any reason, please email Greg or myself at jmcguire@lebanonbaptistchurchky.org or grhinehart@lebanonbaptistchurchky.org  ..
